Adam Doleac has shown his appreciation for fans by dropping two versions of his newest single, “Wrong Side Of A Sunrise.”
The first is a studio version that features a mid-tempo melody full of catchy instrumentals that back Doleac’s sleek vocals as he illustrates the effects of falling for a girl who doesn’t stick around.
“I woke up on the / Wrong side of a sunrise / She disappeared like a / Heart breakin’ thief in the dark / She had me fallin’ / In that Alabama moonlight / But I closed my eyes and / She slipped right out of my arms / No her in my t-shirt / No morning kiss goodbye I woke up on the / Wrong side of a sunrise,” he sings in the chorus.
Fans quickly fell in love with the passion that’s elevated throughout the demo version of “Wrong Side Of A Sunrise” after the singer/songwriter shared a sneak peek to social media in recent months. After seeing the response to this raw tune, he decided to follow up the original release with a highly-requested stripped-down experience.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (May 8), the “Coulda Loved You Longer” singer shared a bit of insight into what the demo version means to him and expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support he’s received.
“It’s the same song, but it hits so very different. I love both versions of this song, but there was definitely some extra magic in the first vocal I sang on the day we wrote it,” he wrote in the caption. “I know that bc of how y’all have reacted to it. I believe in listening to my fans, and as you will see in the next slide, almost ALL of you wanted the piano demo to come out. Well, it’s out. Happy Monday, and thanks for bringing this song to life 🛏️⛅️”
The Instagram post included the very first teaser he released of this tune. Doleac then explained that the clip was captured during a stunning sunset on his honeymoon in Hawaii and was later used as the inspiration for the artwork that appears on the cover of the song.
Many fans took to the comment section to express their excitement over the double release.
One user wrote, “🔥❤️😍 beautiful piano version – thank you for sharing BOTH 🙏🏻 🎉 🎶”
“The piano version just hits different! You’re the absolute best for releasing both versions 🙌🏻,” wrote another.
The Mississippi penned this soulful track with Jared Keim, Joe Clemmons and Neil Medley, who helped him tap into the depths of his songwriting craft.
“With this music, I decided to fully lean into who I am. Instead of writing songs to fit a certain mold, I’m writing songs that are 100% me. I’m going to do what I do best,” Adam Doleac shared in another recent statement regarding his new releases.
“Wrong Side Of A Sunrise” arrives on the heels of Doleac’s latest EP, Barstool Whiskey Wonderland (Wonderland Sides), which features acoustic versions of several fan favorites, including “Famous,” “Coulda Loved You Longer,” and “Don’t It Sound Alright.” This new song also marks the start of Dole’s next album that’s already in the works.
Last week, the Arista Nashville/Sony Music Nashville rising star wrapped his headlining BARSTOOL WHISKEY WONDERLAND TOUR in Knoxville, TN. The tour, which included special guest, Alana Springsteen, hit sold out crowds in cities such as New York, Boston, Dallas, Houston, and Charlotte.
Up next, Adam Doleac will join Old Dominion on select dates of their No Bad Vibes Tour, beginning September 7 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Additionally, he’s slated to appear at a variety of festivals throughout the year including country music’s biggest event of the year, CMA Fest as well as Bash on the Bay, Golden Sky Festival, Taste of Joliet, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, and more.
