The Nashville location of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red bar, restaurant and live music venue is temporarily closed.
The announcement was made on the brand’s official Twitter account with a teaser that read, “Somethin’ special is brewin’ (again) 😉”
It is believed that the popular location is currently shut down from April 24-May 6for the filming of Season 2 of the celebrity game show, Barmageddon. The inaugural season premiered on December 5, 2022, on the USA Network and featured the creative minds behind the project, Blake Shelton and Carson Daly with host, Nikki Bella.
Throughout the show, Barmageddon invited celebrity guests to “throw back” and “throw down” as they partake in a unique set of rowdy bar games such as Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling, Drunken Axe Hole, Sharts (“Shelton Darts”) and more. The first round of celebrity guests included Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani, Chris Young, Trace Adkins and Kane Brown.
“What we were aiming for was real-life The Hangover,” Shelton told PEOPLE. “We wanted to try to capture that in a TV show with people that we know.”
Based on total viewers, the show became USA Network’s biggest series premiere in three years. Since Season 1 turned out to be such a big hit for the network, it’s no surprise that Season 2 was confirmed via social media with a clip of Shelton and Daly promising “New games. More celebs. More drinks. More talking smack. More Barmageddon.”
It was recently revealed that members of the public hoping to get in on the fun can enter to win the chance to be an extra on Season 2, which will once again be shot at Ole Red in downtown Nashville.
According to Ole Red’s Twitter account, “This is your chance to throw a few back with the boss man and some of his famous friends during filming of Barmageddon.”
The on-set sweepstakes opened on April 14, and fans 21 and older can enter through April 21.
Shelton also spoke on the renewal during a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“By the way, we’re doing a Season 2, we’re super excited,” he shared. “It’s an art show, OK? You know what I’m saying? We have fun with it.”
The Idea For The Show Came To Them On ‘The Voice’
The idea for Barmageddon came to the country star and Daly while working together on the set of the singing competition show, The Voice.
“It was actually just an idea that was born out of drinking backstage at The Voice,” Shelton told Kimmel. “We were actually watching, there’s a show called Holy Moley, and we were watching that one day and I said, ‘Man, how much more fun would that show be if they were drinking while they were doing it?’”
The show is produced by White Label Productions and JLP Pictures for the USA Network with Shelton, Daly, Lee Metzger, and White Label’s Chris Wagner serving as executive producers.
A premiere date has not been set for Season 2, but the complete first season is now available for streaming on Peacock.

The “God’s Country” singer is also currently in the midst of his final season on The Voice. Serving as a coach alongside Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan and Chance The Rapper, Shelton is hoping to score his 10th and final win by the end of the season.
With his farewell season in full swing, Clarkson shared that Shelton’s final run has been nothing short of a good time.
“They’re great, they’re so fun and easy to work with,” she said of the newest round of contestants. “This has literally been one of my favorite [seasons]. I love that for Blake too.”
She added, “I love that for Blake’s last season, he’s getting to go out in style with Chance and Niall. They’re so fun, easy to work with and we just have a good time. That’s a cool way to go out, you know?”
Shelton’s replacement has yet to be announced.
