In April, it was announced that the Nashville location of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red bar, restaurant and live music venue was temporarily closed for “somethin’ special” that was in the works. Nearly a month later, the brand’s official Twitter account has revealed that the country star’s space on Broadway has officially opened back up to the public.
Taking to Twitter to share the news, the brand wrote, “Ole Red Nashville is back open! Any guesses what went down the last couple weeks? 👀 😏”
Fans were quick to guess that the reason behind the shutdown was for the filming of Season 2 of Shelton’s new celebrity game show, Barmageddon.
“Filming Barmeggedon,” one user wrote while another guessed, “The taping of Season 2. Of BARMAGEDDON!!!!”

Several people in the comment section were able to confirm these guesses to be correct as they got to be up close and personal for the filming process. One of these lucky users shared, “We were there for season 2 filming. It was great. We had such a great time.”
Ole Red’s Twitter account previously revealed that members of the public had the opportunity to enter to win the chance to be an extra on Season 2.
The post read, “This is your chance to throw a few back with the boss man and some of his famous friends during filming of Barmageddon.”

The on-set sweepstakes opened on April 14, and closed on April 21.
The inaugural season of Barmageddon premiered on December 5, 2022, on the USA Network and featured the creative minds behind the project, Blake Shelton and Carson Daly with host, Nikki Bella.
The idea for the new, fast-paced show came to the country star and Daly while working together on the set of the singing competition show, The Voice.
“It was actually just an idea that was born out of drinking backstage at The Voice,” Shelton previously shared during a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live. “We were actually watching, there’s a show called Holy Moley, and we were watching that one day and I said, ‘Man, how much more fun would that show be if they were drinking while they were doing it?’”
Throughout the first season, which was shot at Ole Red in downtown Nashville, celebrity guests were invited to “throw back” and “throw down” as they took part in a unique set of rowdy bar games such as Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling, Drunken Axe Hole, Sharts (“Shelton Darts”) and more. The first round of celebrity guests included Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani, Chris Young, Trace Adkins and Kane Brown.
“What we were aiming for was real-life The Hangover,” Shelton told PEOPLE. “We wanted to try to capture that in a TV show with people that we know.”
While catching up with Kimmel, Shelton also confirmed that the show would return for a second season.
“By the way, we’re doing a Season 2, we’re super excited,” he shared. “It’s an art show, OK? You know what I’m saying? We have fun with it.”
Barmageddon is produced by White Label Productions and JLP Pictures for the USA Network with Shelton, Daly, Lee Metzger, and White Label’s Chris Wagner serving as executive producers.
A premiere date has not been set for Season 2, but the complete first season is now available for streaming on Peacock.
