On Monday (April 24), the East Tennessee native took to his Instagram stories to issue an apology to fans for the abrupt cancelation of his Mississippi concert and announce that he has to unfortunately reschedule this weekend’s concerts in Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska.
“Y’all know how important my fans are to me, so I feel horrible about this news,” Wallen’s statement read. ”There’s nothing more I want to do than be on stage playing for you guys. But as of today, I’m on doctor-ordered vocal rest and we have to reschedule this week’s shows.”
The “Last Night” singer went on to share his gratitude for fans as he continues to heal his vocal cords.
”I appreciate and understand everything you do to get to my shows, so it would be unfair of me to put on a show that I know will not be 100%,” he continued. “I’m doing everything I can to speed up the process of getting to that 100% mark.”
Morgan Wallen was scheduled to appear in Grand Rapids, MI at the Van Andel Arena on April 27, Moline, IL at the Vibrant Arena on April 28 and Lincoln, NE at the Pinnacle Bank Arena on April 29. The statement also revealed that those shows have now been rescheduled for June 27, Sept. 8, and Sept. 9. (respectively).
Wallen also assured fans that “all original tickets will be honored for the new dates.” Fans who are no longer able to attend can check with their point of purchase for questions about refunds.
The news comes after Morgan Wallen was forced to cancel his performance at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Sunday (April 23) just minutes before he was scheduled to take the stage.
At the time, Wallen took to his Instagram stories to explain the reason for canceling the show so abruptly.
“After last night’s show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better,” Wallen wrote at the time. ”I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing.”
“All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could,” Wallen concluded in his statement to fans.
One Night At A Time World Tour
Wallen is currently in the midst of the U.S. leg of his One Night At A Time World Tour, which kicked off with two sold-out shows at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin earlier this month.
The One Night At A Time World Tour marks Wallen’s first-time ever headlining stadiums across the globe for multiple nights. Marking one of the largest tours of 2023 so far and the biggest tour of Wallen’s career, the lengthy trek will visit 30 stadiums, plus arenas, amphitheaters and festivals to fans across four countries and two continents.
The run launched overseas March 15-25 with shows in New Zealand and Australia. The recent ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee will visit a total of 30 stadiums, and hit four countries and two continents on the 63-show trek including New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and Boston’s Fenway Park. The tour will return overseas this fall with stops in Canada before heading to The O2 in London on Dec. 3.
Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour is produced by Live Nation in North America/United Kingdom and Frontier Touring for Australia/New Zealand.
In an effort to give back to those in need, Wallen will donate $3 of every ticket sold on the U.S. dates to the More Than My Hometown Foundation. Established in 2021, the foundation benefits causes near and dear to the superstar’s heart, including organizations such as Greater Good Music, Children Are People, the Salvation Army, and the National Museum of African American Music.
The tour comes in support of Wallen’s third studio album, One Thing At A Time, which arrived on March 3.
Additionally, Morgan Wallen will also perform at several festivals this summer such as Gulf Coast Jam, Carolina Country Music Fest, We Fest, Big Valley Jamboree, YQM Country Fest, and more.
The country hitmaker isn’t just breaking records with his current tour, but also with his latest project. The collection, which features 36 tracks, including duets with Eric Church, HARDY and ERNEST, remains at the top of the Billboard Artist 100 all-genre chart and the Billboard 200 chart, where it has stayed for five consecutive weeks and counting.
This feat makes Wallen the only core country artist to simultaneously rule the Artist 100, Hot 100 & Billboard 200 charts.
Wallen is next scheduled to appear in Jacksonville, FL at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on May 4.
