Award-winning duo, Brothers Osborne just dropped three band new tracks: “Nobody’s Nobody,” “Might As Well Be Me,” and “Rollercoaster (Forever And A Day).”
This marks the first taste of new music from siblings John and TJ Osborne since the 2022 release of the deluxe edition of their GRAMMY-nominated album, Skeletons. The fresh tunes are also a glimpse into their soon-to-be-announced project.
“As musicians, we’re constantly evolving and pushing ourselves to new heights. With our fourth album, we’ve teamed up with a new producer, Mike Elizondo, and embraced his approach to our sound and story,” John said in a press release. “Our expectations were already high and he absolutely shattered them. It’s exciting to see where this journey will take us and we can’t wait to share this sound with everyone. Life and art are about growth and taking risks, and we’re ready to take on the challenge.”
Penned by the Grammy-award-winning country duo with Kendell Marvel and Mike Elizondo, “Nobody’s Nobody” showcases how everyone plays a key role in the world, and no one’s journey is insignificant. Their smooth harmonies pair effortlessly with the upbeat production as they preach the importance of acceptance.
“Sun goes up / Sun goes down / Takes all kinds of kinds / To make this world go ’round / Everybody’s somebody, someone / A sinner, saint, or son of a gun / Nobody’s nobody,” they sing in the chorus.
Drawing in their signature country-rock sound, the duo strikes a chord with the use of electric guitar riffs and impressive drum beats as they make it a point to be the person to stand up when no one else will in their other new release, “Might As Well Be Me.” Written by Brothers Osborne alongside Corey Crowder and Julian Bunetta, the confident lyrics highlight the duo’s lack of fear when it comes to being the one to “shake things up,” “ strike a match” and “buy the first round.”
“Somebody gotta shake things up / Somebody gotta shut things down / Somebody gotta strike a match / Break the ice and buy the first round / Somebody gotta go all night / Somebody gotta dig down deep / Mean what they say / Say what they mean / Yeah, the way I see / Might as well be me,” they deliver.
The last track among the triple release is “Rollercoaster (Forever And A Day).” Writing credits on this song include Brothers Osborne with Jamie Hartman. Together, they slowed things down to illustrate a powerful piano ballad inspired by the ups and downs of a true love story.
The duo’s diverse vocal range shines throughout the addicting chorus as they sing, “When I am winter, you are summer / When I am autumn, you are spring / When I’m high and dry, you’re my drop of rain / Sometimes falling, sometimes flying / But in spite of everything I could ride this rollercoaster for forever and a day.”
Brothers Osborne’s new music is produced by their co-writer Elizondo, who shared, “Working on music with them was unlike anything I’ve done before. We had the amazing advantage in that they walked in with just a ton of great songs. The first time I did meet the band at TJ’s house it really did feel like I was hanging out with high school buddies. I feel like if we were in high school together these would have been the band geeks I would have hung out with.”
Along with the new music, John recently shared another exciting milestone in his personal life. He and his wife, Lucie Silvas first revealed that they were preparing to become first-time parents with twins during an exclusive interview with People in early November. Then, on March 21, he posted a photo of him dressed in a full hospital gown with the caption, “It’s go time.”
Once he officially announced their births, the “I’m Not For Everyone” singer praised his wife for being a “damn warrior princess.”
Their twins, a son named Arthur, and a daughter named Maybelle, spent their first couple weeks of life in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Luckily, John shared in a following post that they were recently cleared to bring their newborns home.
“Homeward bound with the bubs,” he wrote alongside a black and white photo of him with one baby carrier in each hand.
Brothers Osborne have a slew of shows on the books for the summer. They are slated to appear at several music festivals including Confluence Music Festival in Illinois (June 4), Roque Music Fest in Oregon (June 17), Country Summer Music Festival in California (June 18), Beach It! Country Music Festival in Virginia (June 25), and more.
