Alabama-born country singer and songwriter Ella Langley has teamed up with multi-platinum Texas star Koe Wetzel on her blazing new single, “That’s Why We Fight.”
Langley tackles the opening verse before Wetzel joins her in illustrating the effects of the toxic relationship at hand. The push-and-pull narrative finds the artists telling both their sides of the story before coming to an agreement that no matter how hard they try “to kiss and apologize,” it’s the heated arguments that keep the flame going.
“’That’s Why We Fight’ is about one of those relationships where fighting is the thing that keeps you together,” Langley said in a statement regarding the new song. “Your significant other is your favorite person to fight with. It adds a little spice and keeps things interesting. I wouldn’t recommend a relationship like this, but we’ve all had one. I’ve been a fan of Koe for a long time, and it was really cool he jammed on it.”
Between the exhilarating guitar riffs and unapologetic lyrics penned by Langley with Brett Tyler, David Garcia and Joybeth Taylor, there’s no stopping the rush that comes with hearing the striking melody behind the chorus.
Together, they sing, “That’s why we fight / Put lightening in the sky / Start smashing every bottle we keep bottled up inside / I take it out on you / Take it out on me too / Yeah we know some hell takes us to heaven every time / That’s why we fight.”
