The wait for new music from Lauren Alaina is almost over.
During a trip to Napa Valley, California for Live in the Vineyard Goes Country presented by Visit Napa Valley, the songstress debuted three new songs and shared what fans can expect from her next project.
Just hours before her performance alongside her new Big Loud Records labelmates Jake Worthington, Griffen Palmer, and Jake Owen, Alaina sat down with Country Now and other media to give an update on her new music.

“I’m playing three new songs tonight…for the first time,” she teased. “I’m doing ‘Walk In the Bar,’ which is a play on words, you know how I like to do that. And then ‘Don’t Judge a Woman’ and ‘Like Her.’ They’re going to be three of the new songs with Big Loud, which I’m very excited about.”
After signing with Big Loud Records last year, Lauren Alaina has been hard at work with her new producer, Joey Moi, creating what she says is her best project yet.
“I’m always really proud of my music and I always feel like I say the new project’s the best project, but this one’s just really different and refreshing and feels like it represents me as a woman and a new sound just in general,” she said, adding that her new sound is “a whole lot more country” than her previous releases.

The next project will serve as the follow-up to 2021’s Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World, which spawned fan favorites like “Getting Good” and “Getting Over Him” with Jon Pardi. She says her new music is representative of where she came from, and she’s proud of that.
“I’ve always kind of leaned a little bit like power pop country and this, it’s very different. It’s hard to explain….The ballads are more acoustic-driven. It’s just different. But you know what? It feels like my hometown, it feels like where I came from,” she explained. “I don’t ever feel like I got away from myself because I’m pretty comfortable in who I am and I’ve always kind of ran after that and tried to be the best version of myself.”

Working with Moi has been “life-changing” for Alaina.
“I feel like I’m recording and writing music now that my big brother’s going to be like, ‘Sis, that’s really cool,’” she said. “It just feels like it represents where I come from more. It’s a little more indicative of the girl from Rossville, Georgia in some ways. I’m excited. I’m really proud. Joey is a master.”
Among this new batch of songs is “Walk in the Bar,” a feisty breakup anthem she co-wrote with Lydia Vaughan, Casey Brown and Parker Welling. The hook is a play on the idiom “a walk in the park.”
“[It] sounds like a caption I would write on Instagram,” Alaina, who is famous for her Instagram puns, pointed out.
The other two songs Lauren Alaina previewed at Live in the Vineyard Goes Country were a bit more serious, and while she didn’t have a hand in writing them, the 28-year-old says she connected with them immediately.
“Both of those feel very true to something I would say,” she admitted. “[I’m] very intentional with the outside songs, but I’ve cut quite a few for this new project. I feel really encouraged by the community in general.”
The song “Like Her” is one Alaina wishes she had written.
“It’s about meeting an ex’s new person and saying you wish you could hate her but you like her. I’m trying to hate her but I hate that I like her. It’s a really good idea,” she acknowledged. “That’s also kind of female empowerment because it’s like, we don’t have to hate the next girl. We don’t have to hate her.
“Honestly, we probably should like her because I’m all my exes, I’m glad I’m not with them. And God bless the women that are! I hope they’re wonderful women. And I hope the men have changed,” she laughed.
As fans anxiously await the release of Lauren Alaina’s new music, they can catch her on tour throughout the summer. She’s slated to play several fairs and festivals before joining the North American leg of Pentatonix’s World Tour.
