American Idol alum, Chayce Beckham, returned to the singing competition show on Monday, May 1 to showcase his brand new song “‘Till The Day I Die.” While on the show, he also received a “big surprise” from judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Standing in front of a background with a stunning sunset color scheme, Beckham unveiled a taste of his rising talent and gritty vocals as he belted out the powerful narrative of the song which he penned alongside Andy Albert, Jordan Minton and Mark Trussell. As he sings the authentic tune of “‘Till The Day I Die,” Beckham illustrates his desire to live life to the fullest for as long as he can.
Debuted New Song On ‘Idol’
“Because if whiskey’s only on this side of heaven / And they don’t play outlaw songs up in the sky / I’m gonna raise a glass to this cowboy life I’m livin’ / And I’m gonna keep on raisin’ hell till the day I die / Till the day I die, till the day I die / I’m gonna keep on raisin’ hell till the day I die,” he delivers in the chorus.
Following his performance, Bryan was called up to present Beckham with his first-ever US Gold platinum certified plaque for his self-penned breakout hit “23,” which is currently climbing up the country radio charts. The rising singer/songwriter and Bryan hugged it out on stage as they reunited for this momentous occasion. Before exiting the stage, Beckham thanked the audience and the fans at home for their ongoing support on this song and his career since winning Season 19 of Idol in 2021.
He then took to Instagram to showcase the milestone through several posts, starting with a video of the heartfelt moment.
“Dreams seem to come true on this tv show! Thank you so much @americanidol for having me and letting me play Till The Day I Die, it’s always such and honor to perform on that stage, especially with such a special song to me,” Beckham wrote in his caption.
He went on to share his gratitude towards Perry, Richie and Bryan for helping him pave a path to country music.
“A huge thanks to @lukebryan@lionelrichie@katyperry and @ryanseacrest for being there for the major milestones in my career, for continuing to coach me and encourage me to be the artist I am. I love you guys so much, and your words of encouragement have helped me more than you know. I’m so grateful for all the fans who have made my life what it is, the folks who keep buying my records and and streaming my songs, I’m forever in your debt!”
“23 is certified gold in the states, Till The Day I Die is out now, and I am feeling so very blessed. Wish I could hug you all. Until next time! All of my love,” Beckham said in conclusion.
Shared An Emotional Message
In a following post that featured a photo of him with his shiny new plaque, Beckham continued his speech with kind words towards those on the back end who helped him bring this song to life, his family, his team at BBR Music Group, and more.
“Can’t not post this bad boy, and give a quick thanks to all the people who were involved in this song, and who believed in it from the jump. My entire family, especially mama, my manager Kerri, my label over at BBR, the folks at 19, Elissa, Katie, I love you and thanks for always believing in me and the songs that I love, John Loba and JoJamie, thanks for taking risks on me and making my dreams come true,” he shared.
“We’re just getting started. The entire team at American Idol. Luke you have made a huge impact in my life and I’m so grateful to have met ya. My lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and all you incredible people who played the living hell outta this tune. Speechless is and understatement! Thanks for riding with this California Kid! Love ya all.”
Bryan took to the comment section of this post to return the kind words as he wrote, “Congrats buddy. You earned the hell out of this.”
