Fans know Kane Brown for his epic musical performances and genre-bending sound, but on April 7, he will add another title to his resume as he makes his acting debut on Fire Country.
The singer/songwriter will live out his “dream” as a guest star on an upcoming episode of CBS’s Fire Country.
“Acting has been a life-long dream of mine, and to make my debut on a hit series like ‘Fire Country’ is such an honor,” Brown told PEOPLE.
Ahead of the episode’s premiere, viewers got a first look into Brown’s role as Robin through a series of fiery photos. While on set of the hit new series, which takes place in Edgewater, California, the “Like I Love Country Music” singer was captured donning a dark green jacket with a tattered yellow scarf, work boots, and a backpack slung over his shoulder.
Images from the scenes showcase Brown in the midst of utter chaos filled with victims lying on the ground and surrounded by flaming patches while firefighters tend to the damage. It appears that somehow, Brown even found himself with a bad burn on his hand.
His character is described as an “enigmatic, modern-day train hopper who helps injured patients on the scene of a crash,” according to a press release. Similar to Robin Hood, he plays an outlaw on the run with a heart of gold.
Fire Country premiered on October 7, 2022, and stars Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, a young convict who seeks redemption and longs for a shortened prison sentence. According to a show synopsis, Donovan joins a prison release firefighting program where he and other inmates are assigned to work with elite firefighters to extinguish wildfires across the region. Things get interesting when he’s assigned to work in his rural hometown where his troubles began five years ago.
In addition to Brown and Theriot, Billy Burke, Diane Farr, Jules Latimer, Stephanie Argila, Jordan Galloway, Kevin Alejandro will also appear in the episode, airing on April 7.
Brown’s episode of Fire Country is set to air on Friday, April 7 at 9/8c on CBS and will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
CMT Music Awards
This will come just days after Brown serves as a co-host for the 2023 CMT Music Awards alongside Kelsea Ballerini.
This country-fueled show will mark Austin, TX’s first major televised awards airing LIVE from Moody Center on Sunday, April 2nd (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).
The event, country’s only entirely fan-voted award show, is slated to premiere on the CBS network and will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
This will be Brown’s fourth time co-hosting the CMT Music Awards as he previously co-hosted alongside Ashley McBryde and Sarah Hyland in 2020 and Kelsea Ballerini in 2021 and Ballerini and Anthony Mackie in 2022.
In addition to his role as co-host, the superstar will also perform during the broadcast. Brown will take the stage alongside his wife, Katelyn Brown, for the broadcast world premiere of their multi-week No.1 single, “Thank God.”
The couple first performed their loving track during Brown’s Drunk or Dreaming and have continued to take the stage together on a number of occasions since then. However, this upcoming delivery on the CMT Music Awards will mark the television debut of the song.
Brown is also in the midst of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which kicked off in Grand Rapids, MI on March 16, 2023 in support of his latest album, Different Man.
