Thomas Rhett was feeling all the love as he took to social media to show off the adorable surprise he received from his four daughters to celebrate the opening night of his Home Team Tour 23.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, May 3, the country music star posted photos of the colorful artwork drawn specially for him by his girls, Willa Gray, 7, Ada James, 5, Lennon Love, 3, and Lillie Carolina, 1.
The first framed poster featured plenty of hearts and words of encouragement that read, “We are so proud of you daddy!” The rest of the artwork included hand-drawn photos of Rhett on stage with his guitar, him and his wife, Lauren, standing under a rainbow, tracings of the girl’s hands, a collection of stickers and a surplus of “I love you Daddy.” Plus, each poster was signed by the daughter responsible for the illustrations.
“My team trying to make me cry first night of tour… sheesh,” Rhett wrote alongside the post that proved to him that no matter how far he goes or how big his career grows, his biggest supporters will always be at home.
Cole Swindell Responded
One of Rhett’s longtime friends and opening acts on this run, Cole Swindell, went to the comment section to share his thoughts on the heartfelt gift. He wrote, “Dude..Already the highlight of the tour and it hasn’t even started!! Can’t wait to kick it off tomorrow night, brother 🤝”
When the “Slow Down Summer” singer isn’t on the road, he’s spending time at home fulfilling his dad duties and more recently, quizzing his wife on how well she knows his music catalog.
In a hilarious clip posted to social media, the singer/songwriter started off by asking Lauren, “Do you know the names of all five of my records?”
Without much hesitation, Lauren named the first project correctly with It Goes Like This. However, things started to fall apart a bit as she guessed Unforgettable as his second album. This response caused Rhett to erupt in laughter as this title is actually a track off his third studio album, Life Changes, while his sophomore collection is named Tangled Up.
After a bit of pondering, Lauren asked for a hint, to which Rhett then questioned whether or not she actually knows the names of any of his albums.
Going a bit out of order, she was able to recall two more titles –Country Again (Side A) and Center Point Road.
He continued to test her knowledge on the tracks off his latest album, Where We Started, and in a second video, she was asked to name any of the five hits that came from of his 2017 project, Life Changes.
She listed off the title track, followed by “Marry Me,” “Unforgettable,” and one incorrect answer, “Crash and Burn.”
Rhett then let her off the hook for naming three out of the five correct.
“Life changes… but Laur’s takes do not. #laurstakes,” he wrote in the caption.
Earlier this year, Rhett wrapped up the Canadian leg of his Bring The Bar To You Tour with special guests Jordan Davis and Kameron Marlowe.
On Tour All Summer
Now, he’s back on the road for his Home Team Tour, which kicks off Thursday, May 4 and will continue to make stops in 40 cities and 27 states including Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky and more before wrapping things up in September.
Joining him on this trek is special guests Cole Swindell and Nate Smith.
Additionally, he recently announced that after selling out his show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on September 30, he has added a second date for the following night.
“Closing out the tour with a 2 night home town party in a dream,” he wrote on Instagram.
