Thomas Rhett is not gatekeeping his best parenting hacks. He took to social media on Sunday (Feb. 5) to post a video that gives his fans a glimpse into what his life looks like when he’s not on the road. In doing so, Rhett proudly showcased the household creation that he put together to keep his two youngest daughters, Lillie Carolina and Lennon Love easily entertained at home.
The video captures the country star pushing his girls down the hallway in a laundry basket on wheels. He even stepped it up a notch when he did a “360” and spun them in a circle. This simple DIY hack seemed to bring so much joy to their faces as they each smiled from ear to ear and belted out joyful laughter.
“Quit buying toys for your kids. All ya need is a laundry basket with wheels,” Rhett wrote in his caption.
Thomas Rhett may be a well-known hit singer/songwriter, but in special moments like this, he’s just a dad. He and his wife Lauren are parents to their four daughters, Lillie Carolina, 13 months, Lennon Love, 2½, Ada James, 5, and Willa Gray, 7.
In another recent Instagram post, Rhett shared a photo of his detailed to-do list that Lauren left for him while she was out of town.
First thing on the notecard was a reminder for him to start off the day in prayer. Then, she added bullet points for each of the steps Rhett needed to complete in the morning. He was responsible for getting all he girls hair done, loading the right bags and snacks in the car, giving Lillie a bottle and finally, sending them off to school for the day with a “joyful spirit.”
While the girls have all gotten to experience a bit of what their dad does for a living, it can still be a bit confusing for them when fans stop Rhett out in public and ask for a picture.
During a recent interview on Audacy’s Katie & Company, the “Church Boots” singer recounted a day like this when his five-year-old, Ada James questioned why people are so interested in meeting him.
“We were Christmas shopping up in downtown Franklin, and a few people asked to take a picture. Ada James looked at me, and she said, ‘Why do people like you?’ I love how blunt kids say stuff,” Rhett said. “I was just like, ‘You know Daddy sings music, and I think that those folks like Daddy’s music and they wanted a picture,’ and she was like,’ That’s so weird.’”
Rhett can relate to a lot of what his kids are going through since he had a very similar experience growing up with his dad Rhett Akins, who is also a famous country star.

“I toured with my dad a ton,” he shared. “I mean every weekend during the summer, it was all I wanted to do was get on the bus with my dad to go to play these fairs and festivals with him. So I got to watch it quite a bit.”
He added, “My kids love getting on the bus, they love getting in their bunks. They think it’s the coolest thing in the world…Getting up on stage during soundcheck and playing the drums and getting on the microphone, it’s pretty full circle cause it’s exactly what I used to love to do with my dad.”
