Tyler Hubbard is celebrating his single “Dancin’ In The Country” becoming his second No. 1 hit as a solo artist and his 21st career chart topper on Country Radio. Hubbard is now the record holder for the most spins in an official tracked week on Mediabase country’s mainstream panel.
Co-penned by Hubbard with Keith Urban, Ross Copperman and Jon Nite, the upbeat track serves as the second single off Hubbard’s self-titled album. His lead off single, “5 Foot 9,” which dropped one year ago from May 20, 2023, also claimed the top spot on the charts.
“Having a second No. 1, one year to the day after my debut solo single was released, is really incredible,” Hubbard shared in a recent press release. “It’s been an amazing year, and I’m thankful to Country Radio and the fans for embracing my music, and to Keith, Ross and Jon for sharing their creative genius with me.”
Hubbard has also experienced great success with his boot-stomping anthem during his live shows, claiming as soon as the opening notes hit, “the energy just goes through the roof.”
“It just gets wilder and wilder, and it feels like the set hits a climax, and it’s really, really fun. The crowd goes crazy, and it’s just a good way to end the set. Everybody leaves the show really happy. Everybody’s singing that song. It’s sort of an earworm. Even myself, I’m singing it for the next two hours after the set, just because it’s stuck in my head. So, it’s a special song and it’s a fun one to leave the fans with.”
The song “Dancin’ In The Country” has a loose and danceable tune. It describes the feeling you get when you are dancing on a backroad with the one you love.
“I’ll take you dancin’ in the country / Levi’s in them low beams / Spin you in some red dirt / Sweep you off of both feet / Out here where the sun sets / Silverado backbeat / You’ll never wanna go home / And never wanna not be / Dancin’ in the country / Dancin’ in the country,” Hubbard sings in the chorus.
In honor of his first year as a solo artist, Hubbard played a surprise 75 minute pop-up show at The Stage in downtown Nashville. Following the show, he took to Instagram posting a reel of highlights from the night, which included fans congratulating the anniversary of “5 Foot 9.”
“5 Foot 9” came out a year ago, and what a year it’s been,” Hubbard wrote in an Instagram post. “This song marks my solo artist anniversary and I just want to say thank you to all of you who have supported me and this album. Whether you’ve streamed it, bought the record, or made your own “5 Foot 9” video, your support means everything to me. This anniversary is a big deal to me, and I couldn’t have done it without all of you.”
This summer Tyler Hubbard will continue to write, record, and tour. He will be serving as support on Old Dominion’s extended No Bad Vibes Tour, which kicks off September 7 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI, and make stops in cities including Milwaukee, WI, Pittsburgh, PA, Belmont Park, NY, Charleston, SC, and many more before wrapping up at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on December 15.
Additionally, he’s slated to appear at several fairs and festivals including the Country Fest 2023, the Greeley Stampede, the Hodag Country Festival, SummerFest 2023 and Red River Valley Fair.
