On Saturday evening (May 6), the two Nashville natives teamed up to perform “Son Of A Sinner,” a tune that ERNEST co-wrote with Jelly Roll alongside Davis Ray Stevens, at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Throughout their collaborative performance, the longtime friends traded verses before joining together on the chorus.
“I’m just a long-haired son of a sinner / Searching for new ways I can get gone / I’m a pedal to the highway / If you ever wonder why we write these songs,” Jelly Roll and ERNEST sang on the tune’s chorus.

Jelly Roll is gearing up to release his first-ever full-length country project, WHITSITT CHAPEL, which will arrive on June 2 via BMG/Stoney Creek Records.
The project, named after the church the Antioch native grew up attending, will feature 13 tracks, including his current single, “NEED A FAVOR,” and the previously released track, “SHE.”
“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life. I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems,” Jelly Roll shared in a statement.
WHITSITT CHAPEL will also include three collaborations. Brantley Gilbert and Struggle Jennings join Jelly Roll on “Behind Bars” and Yelawolf is featured on “Unlive,” while Lainey Wilson teamed up with the 38-year-old hitmaker to recreate his fan-favorite tune, “Save Me.”
